Ash is a Fiji-born advocate for accessibility whose life changed dramatically in December 2024 when he was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), a rare neurological condition that left him completely paralysed within 24 hours. After weeks in intensive care in Fiji and months of rehabilitation in Australia, he returned home dependent on a wheelchair—facing daily barriers he had never noticed before. Now on the road to recovery, Ash uses his lived experience to champion inclusive travel and accessible tourism in Fiji. He supports AccessibleFiji.com in helping travellers identify accessible destinations and experiences, while encouraging local businesses and communities to embrace genuine inclusion. His message is clear: accessibility is not a privilege—it is a right, and everyone deserves to experience the beauty, culture, and warmth of Fiji with dignity and ease.
